In 2008 SEAT made a remodeling, all its engines were inline four-cylinder. The gasoline engines are a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated 85 hp or turbocharged 125 hp, a 1.2-liter 102 hp also turbocharged, a 1.8-liter 160 hp, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 210, 240 and 265 hp. Only the 85 hp 1.4-liter lacks direct fuel injection, and the 102 hp 1.2-liter has two valves per cylinder, versus four in the other engines. It was at the end of 2007 when the 125 hp 1.4-liter TSI and the 160 hp 1.8-liter TSI were added to the engine range.

The diesel engines are a 1.6-liter with 90 and 105 hp, a 1.9-liter with 90 and 105 hp and a 2.0-liter with 136 (later 140 (103 kW)) and 170 hp versions, all of them with variable geometry turbocharger, intercooler, 4 valves per cylinder and common-rail system, except the 1.6 with 90 hp which has a fixed geometry turbocharger.
