Hey, Denise! I haven't heard from you in FOREVER. Everything's going pretty well. I'm not at VJC (now Stevenson University) anymore -- my day job's with the Space Telescope Science Institute, and I've been there for over two years now. How about youself? What've you been up to?

Glad to see you are still working on your cartoons/Illustrations. How is everything going? What have you been up to? Still working at VjC?

I'm a software developer, but I'm not a Web expert (nor an artist). I've just started administering ComicPress/CPM site for a friend of mine: http://ravilob.com/

If you have somewhere to watch for beta releases, I might be able to test them sometimes (but I'd feel bad breaking my friend's comic site...). Great work you're doing!

Well, if you're offering... ;)

Additionally, the Change Dates features, regardless of the amount of testing, is a dangerous operation. It touches big chunks of the WP database and file system, and if something goes wrong in the middle (Apache dies on the server, the power gets pulled, the DB goes up, etc) it can leave the site in an inconsistent state. Hence the warnings.

Wow, you've just gone through 4 updates before I had time to upgrade. It's really looking impressive! One recommendation: If a feature is so "advanced" (read: "dangerous"), you might consider releasing a beta. Then again, that adds a lot of overhead to manage, and you need a good number of users who are willing to test run the beta.

Sorry to double-post, but I wasn't sure where was most appropriate. I have a question about user roles that can access the manager:

toph, I just pushed out an upgrade to ComicPress Manager that should alert you to the problem. It occurs because the permissions on the theme directory are not set so that the Webserver process can write there. Most likely the theme directory needs to be made group writable via the chmod command (chmod 664 theme-directory). Look through the documentation for your FTP client or Web host to learn how to do this.
